Element VIa. Parent and Community Involvement and Outreach: The principal/assistant principal designs structures and processes which result in parent and community engagement, support and ownership for the school.
The students and parents at the Early College are required to complete service projects. I organized a toys-for-tots and a food drive during the month of December; parents, students, and staff participated. I also attended and participated in community meetings that were organized by the superintendent to share updates and changes within the school district. By organizing the student service projects, I was able to build lasting relationships with individuals from the community and I learned the importance of networking.

I attended most school board meetings and community meetings to stay well informed of the vision, updates and changes that took place the county. By organizing the student service projects, I was able to build lasting relationships with individuals from the community and I learned the importance of networking. By attending community meetings, I learned important information about changes within the county and it provided me with an opportunity to network with parents and the members from the community.
