Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department
I completed my community internship with Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department. I completed administrative task such as inputting fire reports into the firehouse system, I attended fire calls and completed reports and participated in the community events that the fire department hosted. I really enjoyed working with the volunteer firefighters; while completing my internship, I learned the importance of being involved with the community. I was able to connect with people from many different career backgrounds that are more than willing to volunteer at the school. Most importantly, I learned patience and resiliency. I watched the firefighters fight a house fire for hours, as they worked to put the fire out they never gave up. The fire appeared to grow as they tried to drown the fire. The chief created teams that would switch out to allow the firefighters to rest. At that moment, I learned the importance of patience and resilience.
